Steve Berry Pastor
Yoan Chirino Hispanic Pastor
Pastor Steve Berry was born in Huntington, West Virginia. He
became a Christian at the age of nine after riding a bus to church
and a dear elderly lady showed him God's plan of salvation at the
conclusion of a Sunday school lesson. He surrendered his life to
preach the gospel at the age of 15. He received his Bachelors
degree in Bible and Pastoral Theology from Southeastern Free Will
Baptist College. In August of 1988, he married Cindy (Stanley)
Berry. God has blessed their home with three children. Since
college, He has served as the Youth Pastor for five years in Tulsa,
Oklahoma, the Pastor for two years in Crewe, Virginia, and
returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma as the Assistant Pastor and Principal of
Cornerstone Christian Academy for six years. His first Sunday at
the First Free Will Baptist Church of Melbourne was February 10,
2002. Pastor Berry is excited about the many blessings God is
bestowing here at First Church.

Yoan was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba and came to Christ in
1991when he was 15. At the age of 19 he answered God's call to
preach the Gospel and immediately began serving in two local
mission churches. In 1998 he enrolled in the Theological Seminary,
"Cedars of Lebanon," where he graduated with a Bachelors degree
in Pastoral Theology. After graduation in 2002, he was assigned to
shepherd the Free Will Baptist Church of Matanzas, Cuba where he
served until 2008. During those years he was also assigned to
head the department of Marriage at the Free Will Baptist Convention
of Cuba for five years. In 2006 he was elected to the National
Board of Free Will Baptists. Yoan, and his wife Marilyn and
daughter Elizabeth, moved the United States in 2008 and began
serving as the Hispanic pastor at our church in October 2008. While
maintaining the pastorate, in 2010, he also began a mission church
in Vero Beach, Florida. They are excited about all the work God is
doing in them and through them at Melbourne.
